The recent update of Mozilla Firefox (81) Nightly for Android has added a new feature. This feature enables the browser to download files via external download manager apps that are installed on the phone. This feature is available in most of the regions. i.e. you can easily download the update from Play Store. But if it is not available you can download its APK and from the web.

How to use External Download Managers from Firefox

The new feature to access an external download manager is made quite simple and easily accessible. You can easily choose from available apps, while you download. To use just follow these steps:

  1. Download and install Firefox Nightly.
  2. Launch Firefox Nightly.
  3. Tap on menu -> settings -> Advance.
  4. Here, enable ‘External download manager’.

After this when you download any file on Firefox, it will show a dialog box at the bottom that will ask you to select an app to “Complete action (download) using” with apps to choose from.
